The rollout of the service, which began on Wednesday, will continue over the coming weeks. Once finalized, it will be rolled out in 22 countries, which are America, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Britain, Canada, Korea, Switzerland, Mexico, South, and the other 11 countries.

However, the Dark Web Report feature will not activate by default. Users need to turn it on manually. Google has clarified in its statement that “enabling the Dark Web Report involves selecting and supplying the information you wish to be monitored through your profile”. If the company finds any matching data, it will alert the user and provide suggestions to protect the detected data.

How can it work? To explain this, Google cited that if a user’s Social Security number is found on the dark web, the company may advise them to report it to the government as stolen. In addition, the company will also provide users with tips on how to protect their credit.

Google has said that it will handle any data shared with the company for monitoring by its privacy policy to ensure the privacy of users. In addition, users can remove any information from their profile or stop monitoring at any time.
